I have been looking into which framework to program in when i get good enough for that. I have use GTK apps for a really long time and recently have been using Kubuntu with Qt apps. I have looked into writing GTk apps and i didnt find a good starting point. With Qt it was a bit different… It didnt take long for me to find out that Qt has a huge following and getting started is really easy. By no means do i clam to to be a C++ developer or a Qt developer, but it is really easy for someone to get started with a powerfull language like C++ with the addition of Qt. Here is a screenshot of my first GUI Qt App.

Katrina Tards…

This may be old news but i was just turned on to it by a new podcast im listening to. The Podcast is called The Survival Podcast. In the Podcast Jack Spirico does a great job of trying to prepare the average person for a better life if thing get bad or even if they don’t. I was listening to an old episode of his where he talked about the lessions learned from Hurricane Katrina and one think that he mentioned that i never new was that the second amendment rights of the citizens of New Orleans were violated because of a Gun seizure by the local authorities. There are a couple of videos on youtube. I have posted one to show how the authorities in America are slowly and surely taking away the Constitutional rights of the average citizen.

Eeepc 1000 troubles…
June 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment
After reading about how fast the eeepc are suppose to be i was a little baffled as to why mine was so slow. Well after researching on the inter-tubes for a little bit. It turns out that the 32 gig SSD in the eeepc 1000 has slower read write times than the 8gig SSD. So i reinstalled Ubuntu on just the 8gig drive and wow… What a difference! It is a zippy little computer now! There is a fix but it is going to cost me some spare change to get a new SSD to replace the 32gig POS! I am looking at the Runcore SSD. That should speed it up quite nicely…

American Airline Tards!!!

Un-fucking believable… I had a flight at 7 Pm and i dont have anything to do in Kansas City so i checked in at 10 AM. I was standby and i thought that i had a good shot to get on the plane but it was a really full flight. So the lady did not call my name for stand-bys and when i asked and handed her my ticket she told me that i didnt make the flight… OK, i can deal with that. After everyone had boarded and the plane was already away from the gate i approched another lady at another desk to see if she could check to see if i had a good shot on getting on the next flight at 3 Pm. She asked for my last name and she asked me again! Then she said i had a seat on the last flight and wondered why i wasn’t on it…. I was seeing red! But oh well, the world need ditch diggers to… United Airlines from now on…

Kubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) Alpha 1 running KDE 4.3
June 8, 2009 · 2 Comments
I have been using gnome for some time now and decided it was time for a change. I was looking at Kubuntu 9.04 with the KDE 4.3 PPA update. I was told by nixternal on IRC to just use the Kubuntu 9.10 Alpha 1. So i did and took some screenshots. I have been happy with KDE 4.3. The big thing that was holding me back was the way gtk apps looked in Qt. The wireless app in 4.2 wouldnt connect to my wireless but it works now…

It has been to long since I have played a bass guitar. My last one was sold for bills and i have played seriously in what seems like forever! Well I have been looking to pick a bass up and I found a couple that were a little pricy but not to bad. I have always wanted a Fender Jazz Bass for as long as i can remember and for my wedding anniversary my wife said I could have one. So i called up a guy who had a Mexican made Fender Jazz for $300.00. I like the Mexican made because I can use the hell out of it and im not to upset about the dents and dings, in fact i kinda hopped that i had a couple. The dents and dings add to the character! Anyway here is a pic.
